Hallador Energy Company is a vertically integrated independent power producer and fuel company operating primarily in Indiana. Through Hallador Power, it owns and operates the 1,080 MW Merom coal-fired power plant, selling accredited capacity and wholesale energy within the MISO market. Through Sunrise Coal, it mines bituminous coal in the Illinois Basin, supplying power plants in the Midwest and Southeast United States.
